How Reiki Moves Us Beyond the Spirit Boundary

What I am sharing here is my own theory, built from years of personal experience practicing Reiki. It is not drawn from a book or an established system. It is what I have come to understand through direct experience.

We often think of the spiritual world as something far away, but my view is that it runs parallel to us as another dimension. Under this theory, the spirit world occupies the exact same space we do, just on a different frequency that our senses cannot naturally detect. And while that frequency sits outside our normal range, certain energy practices can shift our awareness enough to reach it.

It feels as though there is a boundary, a line that sits between the world we are in and the spirit world. By using energy practices like Reiki, we can intentionally shift our state of awareness to approach, touch, and sometimes cross this line.

Reiki as the Key to the Boundary

When we are focused on the daily logic and tasks of our day to day world, we remain firmly on our side of the line. When we enter a Reiki state, that changes.

Practicing Reiki creates something like a straw that penetrates through the line. When you go into that meditative state and begin to channel, the straw goes through and brings energy from the spirit world across. As the Reiki practitioner, you act as a connector, linking your client to the spirit world through that channel.

This works on two levels depending on how deep the session goes.

Touching the line: Most of the time during Reiki, you are dipping into the boundary slightly. This allows you to act as a neutral connector, pulling universal life force energy through and directing it where it is needed. The client receives the energy without you fully entering the spirit dimension yourself.

Crossing the line: During a deeper session, your awareness can go further and actually cross through the boundary. When this happens, you begin to experience the spirit dimension directly. You might feel a sudden, deep intuition, become aware of spiritual energy around you, or see and hear spirits.

The Importance of Grounding

Because your awareness can genuinely cross the line during deep Reiki work, knowing how to return is just as important as knowing how to get there. Within this theory, grounding works because physical sensation pulls your consciousness back to the frequency of the physical world. The more rooted you are in your body and your immediate surroundings, the further you move from the boundary.

Physical actions like walking barefoot on the earth, focusing attention on the body, or eating heavy foods all anchor your awareness back to this side of the line. Once you understand this mechanic, you can move toward the boundary with intention, access your intuition, connect with spirit, or channel energy, and still return fully grounded and functional in your daily physical reality.
