When I experienced a spontaneous Kundalini awakening and attunement during a Reiki session, I went looking for answers. What I found was the same information repeated everywhere, surface level explanations, little original research, and almost nothing that helped me understand what had actually happened to me.

So I started digging for myself. And this is where I put everything I find.

Who I Am

I'm a qualified Usui Ryoho Reiki Master based in Scotland, and I came to Reiki not through a spiritual or religious upbringing, but through direct experience. I had been visiting a Reiki practitioner as a client for three years when my spontaneous attunement happened. It wasn't something I sought out or planned for, but it changed everything.

What gave me the tools to explore it properly was an unlikely combination: a degree in Journalism, eight years teaching English in Tokyo, and a career in the corporate world leading teams across fintech, gaming, and broadband. I know how to research, how to ask the right questions, and how to communicate what I find clearly. Reiki gave me something worth investigating.

I hadn't encountered Reiki during my years in Japan, but I carry a deep love for the country and feel its influence woven into my connection with the practice.

Why Science and Spirituality Belong Together

I don't come from a background where I was taught to accept things on faith alone but I have come, through experience and research, to believe fully in spirituality. What I hold onto is this: our bodies and our spirits are working together. Understanding the science doesn't diminish the magic.

That belief shapes everything I create here, from community research polls to articles that sit at the intersection of energy healing and science.
