I first tried Reiki while working in a busy corporate role in finance. I was overworked, tired, and just wanted something to help me switch off and find stress relief. It surprised me how much it helped me feel calmer and more centred, so I kept going. Over time, Reiki became a big part of how I look after myself, and I decided to train so I could offer that same space to others.
Now, as a qualified Reiki Level 2 therapist, I offer gentle holistic therapy to help people with anxiety support and general wellbeing. I work with people who are looking to de-stress, take a breather, and feel a bit more like themselves again.
Reiki is a gentle Japanese practice that works with your natural energy to restore balance and wellbeing. This is a form of alternative therapy that promotes your body's self-healing mechanisms.
Each holistic session is unique; many people experience deep relaxation, grounding, or moments of clarity. You can choose hands-on, hands-off, or a blend of both.
Reiki may help you:
Ease chronic stress and overwhelm through deep relaxation
Support emotional balance and mental clarity
Improve focus and decision-making
Deepen self-awareness and inner connection
My practice is built on a foundation of trust, respect, and client empowerment:
Neutrality: I don’t guide or predict your Reiki experience. It unfolds naturally, and your journey is yours.
Presence: I listen, support, and hold safe, calm space with gentle attention.
Tailored Support: Your personalised session is adapted to your specific needs, focus, or intention.
Empowerment: You are the expert in your own healing experience. I am here to reflect, not interpret, any colours, imagery, or sensations you notice.
Inclusivity: I welcome everyone to my Reiki sessions, regardless of background or experience level.
You can choose the duration that suits your needs: a 30, 45, or 60 minute session.
Here is what you can expect during your personalised Reiki experience:
Consultation: We will begin with a brief, private chat about your current wellbeing, any specific intentions you have for the session, and any questions you might have.
Session Choice: You can choose your preferred style of Reiki healing: hands-on, hands-off, or a mix of both.
Treatment: You will lie comfortably (fully clothed) as I work. Many people experience deep relaxation and warmth during the session.
Closing Chat: There will be dedicated time at the end to discuss your experience and any reflections you had during the session.
Reiki works by gently supporting your body’s natural ability to relax and restore balance. During a session, healing energy is channeled through my hands to encourage a sense of calm and help ease physical and emotional tension.
Everyone experiences Reiki healing differently. You might feel warmth, cold, tingling, gentle waves of energy, or simply deep relaxation. Some people even drift off to sleep, and that’s totally fine, it's a sign of deep rest.
There’s nothing special you need to do. Just wear something comfortable and try not to rush beforehand. To get the most out of your holistic session, I recommend giving yourself a little time afterwards to rest or take things slow.
Important Note: Reiki isn’t a medical treatment, and it doesn’t replace professional medical care. What this complementary therapy can do is support your overall wellbeing, help you manage stress and anxiety, and create safe space for your body and mind to rest, which often has its own kind of healing effect.
That depends entirely on your personal wellbeing goals. Some people book a one-off Reiki consultation to relax, while others book regular treatments to help manage chronic anxiety or maintain balance. We can discuss a personalised plan that feels right for you after your first session.
If there’s anything the FAQs haven’t answered, you can book a free 15-minute Zoom or phone chat with me. I'm happy to answer any questions about Reiki in Edinburgh.
